10 Fun Stay-At-Home Date Ideas That Are Imaginative

Stay-at-home-date-ideas

Have you heard? Staying in is the new going out! It’s easy to transform your evening at home into one of the most fun dates you’ve ever had!

After all, we really only need each other’s company to be happy, and spending date night at home together is a fabulous way to reaffirm your bonds and find out more about each other, without the added pressure of other people all around you.

In this article, I’ll share ten fantastic stay-at-home date ideas that you might want to try!

1. Spa Date

Run your partner a pampering bubble bath, complete with a glass of wine. If you have a big enough tub, you can get in there too…

Afterwards, wrap them up in a large towel and treat them to the best massage that you can give them.

You will need to do a little preparation for this spa night: look up the best way to perform a massage, invest in some massage oils, and make sure you have your partner’s favourite wine.

Next time, you can switch sides, and your partner can enjoy giving you the massage and pampering you into a state of relaxed bliss.

2. Board Games (not Bored Games!)

Dig through your cupboards or pop into a charity shop to pick up a new board game. Playing a board game with your partner is a great way to enjoy each other’s company.

Why board games? You’ll be concentrating on your partner and the game, ignoring the television and your phone for a few hours at a time. Just, do not play monopoly. Forcing your beloved into bankruptcy at the end of a ten-hour real estate buying marathon is not going to do your sex life any good at all!

3. Wish List

For this one, you each take a piece of paper and write down three things that you have secretly always wanted to try.

These can be sexual, of course, that is one of main points of the game! But they can also mention activities that you have always wanted to try out or new places you would like to discover.

You are sure to find out something about your partner that you never knew before, no matter how long you have been together. But do try some of the things – you never know, you might like it!

4. YouTube Battle

Take turns finding funny, entertaining and enjoyable videos to play each other. Like the Wish List game above, this is a great way to bond with one another and perhaps learn a little something new about your partner.

YouTube is a treasure trove of hilarious videos. That video of the horny tortoise trying to hump a Croc will make me cry with laughter every time I hear that funny little war cry…

5. Netflix and Chill

The first widely used euphemism for staying in and getting intimate. There is a reason that it is one of the most popular stay-home dating ideas around: it is great!

Watching the latest shows on Netflix, especially the ones that all your friends are raving about and before getting naked and enjoying each other’s undivided attention is a great way to spend date night!

6. Video Games Night

All too often, only one partner is a gamer and the other partner can feel left out! Mix things up by going multiplayer, having an intense battle against each other or working together in an epic cooperative session.

With a bit of practise battling, especially if they are very new to the gaming world, the two of you can battle the night away against each other or against others working as a team to defeat players from all over the world.

7. Sports Night

Recreate the big game atmosphere and get in some beers, popcorn and hotdogs for the big game, be it Superbowl or your local league.

Set a date to watch the match, and get ready to cheer your side home. If you win, you can celebrate with your partner, and even if you lose there is sure to be some compensation for you both…

8. Would you Rather?

This is a rather more adult version of the playground game: you can ask almost anything and they have to answer honestly!

The only caveat is that they get to ask questions too, so do not play unless you are prepared to be very honest!

If there is anything that you have been dying to try – a quickie in a semi-public space or a visit to a nude beach, for example, you could ask the question and see where their reply takes you!

9. Romantic Candlelit Dinner

Surprise your partner with their favourite meal delivered to your door from their favourite restaurant as a surprise. Line up a romantic playlist and go to the effort of recreating the restaurant atmosphere.

Don’t forget the wine and flowers, and perhaps even some premium quality chocolates for afterwards. Hopefully, this will be just the beginning of a long and sensual evening for both of you.

10. Write Your Bucket List

Write out your bucket lists together and then have fun seeing which items you have in common!

Quite often a partner will suggest something unusual that the other partner then loves the idea of – and adds it to their own list. You can have great fun planning a comprehensive journey that will see you both ticking off as many ‘must-do’ activities as you can.

Save the lists and slowly work your way through them, revisiting the lists occasionally and seeing if there is anything that can now be crossed off, or if there is anything new to add.

Final Thoughts

These are just some fun ideas for a stay-at-home date night. Hopefully, the list will inspire you to get imaginative with your partner, even if you do stay home and save money while enjoying time alone together.
